Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – Johns Hopkins scored the final three goals of the game to record a 4-3 overtime win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Thursday.
Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) led the Green Terror (7-9, 2-7 CC) with a pair of goals.
Morgan Pothast scored the game-winner for the Blue Jays (7-9, 4-5 CC), putting back her own rebound off a defensive save in the 77th minute.
On a breakaway, Pothast beat the keeper before firing a shot that Paige West (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) recorded the defensive save. Pothast, however, collected her own rebound and knocked it home 6:54 into the first overtime.
Rachel Cressman (Pitman, N.J./Pitman) blasted home a shot from the top of the arc off a Sarah Bach (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) penalty corner in the 17th minute for a 1-0 lead.
Quattrone beat her defender before deking the goalie and scoring on an open cage at the 31:24 mark for a 2-0 lead at the break.
Victoria Piscopo closed the deficit to 2-1 on a corner 2:24 into the second half.
Quattrone pushed the lead back to two, one-timing a Haley VanNostrand (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) pass just 62 seconds later.
Lindsay Adams needed just 12 seconds to once again make it a one-goal game before Princess Sutherland turned and beat the keeper to tie the game in the 51st minute.
McDaniel finished with a 27-21 advantage in shots, including a commanding 15-2 margin in the first half.
Johns Hopkins, who got 13 saves from Greta Helvie, had a 12-9 edge in penalty corners.
The Green Terror concludes the season at home against Washington (Md.) on Saturday. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
