LANCASTER, Pa. – Jim Heilman (Lutherville, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) finished second to lead McDaniel to a second-place finish at the Charger Invitational hosted by Lancaster Bible in men's cross country action on Saturday.
Heilman finished the 8,000-meter course in a personal-best time of 27:35.2, leading a trio of Green Terror runners across the line. McDaniel finished with 48 points, three off the pace of team champion Penn State-Abington.
The Lions' Alexander Kane won the meet with a time of 26:58.3.
Chris Jones (Centreville, Va./Centreville) and Thomas Runner (Elkridge, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) joined Heilman in the top four. Jones finished third with a time of 28:27.1 while Runner was fourth with a time of 28:38.0.
Kyle Crouse (Keymar, Md./Francis Scott Key) and Cryus Darwoolla (Westminster, Md./Westminster) finished 19th (31:28.2) and 20th (31:57.4), respectively, while Ian Yoshioka (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) crossed 25th in a time of 33:23.8.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Mustang Twilight Tuneup hosted by Stevenson on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Action begins at 4 p.m.
