Box Score 2 GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Madeline Rose (Soddy Daisy, Tenn./Baylor High) recorded 19 kills and seven blocks to lead McDaniel to a 2-0 start to the Battlefield Classic and volleyball season on Friday.
The Green Terror (2-0) opened the night with a 3-0 win over Penn State-Harrisburg, defeating the Lions (0-2) by 25-11, 25-8 and 25-16 scores, respectively. McDaniel closed the night defeating Oberlin, 3-1. The Green Terror won the opening set 25-23 before the Yeowomen (1-1) evened the match with an identical 25-23 win. McDaniel closed the match with wins of 25-11 and 25-14, respectively.
Rose finished with nine kills, five digs, four blocks and two aces against Penn State-Harrisburg before adding 10 kills, three blocks, a dig and an ace in the nightcap.
Kloe Martin (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) added 20 total kills in two matches, knocking down seven in the opener before registering 13 in against Oberlin.
Caroline Savin (Shrewsbury, Pa./Shrewsbury) added six kills against Penn State-Harrisburg while Teryn Rath (Grass Valley, Calif./Bear River) added six against Oberlin.
Colette Kellen (Olney, Md./Covenant Life) contributed 13 assists in the first match and 18 in the nightcap.
Against the Lions, Sarah Donnelly (Wilmington, Del./Archmere Academy) added six aces and eight assists while Alyssa Gilboy (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) added led the defense with six digs.
Against the Yeowomen, Genna Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa./Shrewsbury) and Reagan Folaron (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) led the defense with 17 and 16 digs, respectively. The duo also added three assists apiece. Maddie Moyer (Brookeville, Md./Sherwood) contributed 16 assists.
The Green Terror concludes action at the tournament against Marietta and Messiah. Action begins at 10 a.m.
