SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Peter Merkel (Ellicott City, Md./Homeschool) finished seventh in the 3,000 to lead McDaniel at the Crusader Classic hosted by Susquehanna in men's indoor track and field action on Saturday.

Merkel recorded one of two top-10 individual finishes to lead the Green Terror at the non-scoring meet, finishing with a time of 9:18.81.

Jake Zamostny (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) placed 10th in the 800 with a Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying time of 2:01.92 in the 800.

The two were half of the 4x800-meter relay, which finished second with a time of 8:17.43. The time ranks seventh on the program's all-time performance list.

Luis Miramontes (San Jose, Calif./San Jose) also made his way onto the program's top 10, ranking second in the weight throw with a toss of 10.07 meters to finish 28th at the meet.

Miramontes was also 34th in the shot put with a throw of 10.87 meters. Alex Murchison (Edgewood, Md./St. John's Prep) led the way for McDaniel in the event, finishing 24th with a CC-qualifying throw of 11.72 meters. Kevin Rosenthal (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) rounded out a trio of throwers, placing 39th with a throw of 10.15.

Chris Jones (Centreville, Va./Centreville) rounded out those with CC-qualifying marks, finishing 21st in the 800 with a time of 2:05.02.

The Green Terror returns to action at the DuCharme Invitational hosted by Dickinson on Saturday.
