WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel will travel to Lebanon Valley for the first round of the 2014 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Mid-Atlantic field hockey tournament on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
The Green Terror (9-8) earned the No. 6 seed and will take on the third-seeded Flying Dutchmen (14-4) in the quarterfinals of the eight-team tournament. McDaniel is making its third ECAC appearance in the last four years.
The winner of Wednesday's game will meet the winner of the matchup between No. 2 Muhlenberg (12-5) and No. 7 Stevenson (12-7) in one of Saturday's semifinals. The other semifinal will pit the winners of No. 1 Alvernia (13-8) and No. 8 Misericordia (13-8) and No. 4 Kean (13-7) and No. 5 Arcadia (13-7). Matchups will take place at the site of the highest remaining seed. Game times will be determined once the host is set.
The championship game will take place between the two semifinal winners on Sunday.
Freshman Gabrielle Yore (Olney, Md./Sherwood) led McDaniel with 16 goals and one assist on the season. Sophomore Haley VanNostrad (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) has added six goals and an assist.
Senior Bayley Vohs (Millerstown, Pa./Greenwood) and freshman Annie Sencindiver (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) have added four goals each. Vohs has three assists while Sencindiver has one helper.
Senior Caila White (Delmar, Md./Delmar) leads the defense in goal with a 1.80 goals-against average and .752 save percentage.
