Haab records one and one in key win

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel scored a goal in each half to defeat Haverford 2-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Saturday.

Lara Haab (Gladwyne, Pa./Country Day School of Sacred Heart) led the Green Terror (8-6, 3-4 CC) with a goal and an assist, tallying the game-winner in the 52nd minute.

Allison Martin scored for the Fords (7-6, 3-4 CC), tying the game just shy of three minutes into the second half.

On a corner, Bayley Vohs (Millerstown, Pa./Greenwood) sent a ball towards the backside post from the top of the arc and Haab was able to knock it in at the 51:46 mark.

Sarah Meszler (Herkimer, N.Y./Herkimer) took a Haab pass from the right side and was able to tap it home for a 1-0 lead 10:22 into the game.

On a corner in the 38th minute, Brenna Boehman sent a pass across the circle to Martin, who finished to knot the game at 1-all.

Caila White (Delmar, Md./Delmar) made seven saves in nearly 52 minutes of action between the pipes.

Haverford finished with advantage of 21-9 in shots and 14-3 in penalty corners.

McDaniel returns to action at Johns Hopkins on Tuesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
