Box Score SWARTHMORE, Pa. - McDaniel scored three second-half goals to overcome a 1-0 halftime deficit and defeat Swarthmore 3-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Saturday.
Sarah Meszler (Herkimer, N.Y./Herkimer) and Julie Little (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) each scored a goal for the Green Terror (7-5, 2-3 CC), who finished with a 19-4 advantage in shots.
Erin Gluck staked the Garnet (2-11, 0-6 CC) to a 1-0 lead just 6:02 into the game, scoring off a Nia Jones assist.
In the 51st minute, an own goal knotted the game at 1-all.
Nearly seven minutes later, Meszler beat the goalkeeper to the right, scoring to give her team a 2-1 advantage.
Just over 10 minutes later, Little finished a pass from Suzy Banister (Cockeysville, Md./Dulaney) at the top of the arc and beat the keeper for the final margin.
Gabby Capone made seven saves for Swarthmore.
McDaniel added a 14-5 advantage in penalty corners.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Gettysburg on Tuesday. Game time is 3 p.m.
