HARRISBURG, Pa. – Greg Bowman (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) carded an even-par 72 on Sunday to take part in a three-person playoff, leading McDaniel to a fourth-place finish at the 2012 Centennial Conference (CC) men's golf championship at Blue Ridge Country Club on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Bowman joined Swarthmore's Paul Weston and Franklin & Marshall's Cameron Warner with 54-hole totals of 225 and a sudden-victory playoff. Warner sank a birdie on the first playoff hole to win the individual crown. Bowman and Weston finished tied for second as part of the all-conference team.
Franklin & Marshall won the team title with a score of 931, bookending the tournament with rounds of 314 around a tournament-low score of 303 on Saturday. Swarthmore was second (635) and Dickinson was third (937). The Green Terror placed fourth with a score of 947, snapping a string of seven straight seasons finishing first or second at the championship. McDaniel opened the tournament with a round of 323 on Friday to sit third before carding a 313 on Saturday to drop back to fourth place and finishing the tournament with a 311 on Saturday.
Bowman carded a 79 on Friday and 74 on Saturday.
James Lillie (Garret Park, Md./Walter Johnson) registered a score of 323 to finish tied for sixth. He started the weekend with an 80 on Friday before shooting a 74 on Saturday and a 78 in the final round.
Cody Mewhirter (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) finished tied for 14th with a score of 243, finishing the weekend with a 78 after an opening two rounds of 83 and 82.
Kyle Chittim (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) posted a score of 250 (84-83-83) to finish tied for 25th.
Logan Connaughton (Matawan, N.J./Matawan Regional) finished 30th overall with a total of 255 (81-83-91).
