Chittim fires 151 to lead the way
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Kyle Chittim (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) fired a two-round score of 151 to lead McDaniel to a fifth-place finish at the Rehoboth Beach Fall Invitational hosted by Penn in men's golf action on Monday.
The Green Terror combined to shoot a 36-hole score of 608 to place in the middle of the pack in a primarily Division I field. McDaniel carded a 302 in the morning round and a 306 in the afternoon to defeat the other two Division III teams in the field, Rosemont (623) and Wesley (659) in the nine-team field. Navy won the one-day, two-round tournament with a score of 572 (287-285).
Chittim finished 25th after posting a round of 74 in the morning and carding a 77 in the afternoon.
Logan Connaughton (Matawan, N.J./Matawan Regional) posted a round of 77 in the morning and 76 in the afternoon to finish tied for 27th with a 153.
Greg Bowman (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) and Cody Mewhirter (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) finished tied for 30th with matching 36-hole scores of 154. Mewhirter posted matching rounds of 77 while Bowman improved from a 78 to 76 from the first to second rounds.
Bryan Johnson (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) rounded out the Green Terror competitors, finishing tied for 33rd with a 156 (74-82).
McDaniel's B-team returns to action at the Gettysburg Fall Invitational while the A-team is off until Sunday and Monday, when it travels to the Vulcan Invitational at California (Pa.).
