Box Score Riordon, Deitrick tally twice
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Six different McDaniel players recorded a goal in an 8-0 victory over Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Saturday.
Lindsay Riordon (Monkton, Md./Hereford) extended her team lead in goals to 11 with her fourth multiple-goal game of the season, scoring two of the first three goals for the Green Terror (6-1, 2-1 CC), who finished the game with advantages of 30-2 in shots and 14-3 in penalty corners.
Faith Westdrop made seven saves in net for the Owls (0-7, 0-3 CC), who have now been outscored 37-1 in their first three conference games.
Riordon scored just 19 seconds into the game, taking a feed from Natalie Price (Elkton, Md./Elkton) for a 1-0 lead.
Price then found Katie Corson (Ocean View, N.J./Ocean City) to double the lead at the 5:06 mark.
Corson and Riordon connected just 3:42 later for a 3-0 lead.
Price made it 4-0 at the break, finishing unassisted in the 26th minute.
Corson added her second helper of the afternoon on a Sarah Meszler (Herkimer, N.Y./Herkimer) tally just 3:24 on the other side of intermission.
Freshman Bayley Vohs (Millerstown, Pa./Greenwood) scored her first collegiate goal at the 62:05 mark before senior Michelle Deitrick (Mt. Lakes, N.J./Mt. Lakes) tallied her second collegiate marker 2:01 later.
Deitrick made it a two-goal day on the final play of the game.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Game time is 2 p.m.
