McDaniel finishes 10th at Kuhn Invitational
MEADVILLE, Pa. – Greg Bowman (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) fired a two-round score of 155 to lead McDaniel to a 10th-place finish at the 2011 Guy W. Kuhn Invitational hosted by Allegheny in men's golf action on Sunday and Monday.
The Green Terror combined to shot a 36-hole score of 627, firing a 310 on Sunday before posting a 317 on Monday in cool and overcast conditions.
Wittenberg won the 19-team tournament with a 595 (295-300), four shots better than Rochester's 599 (304-295).
Bowman was one of four McDaniel golfer to break 80 in the first round, registering a round of 76 before posting a score of 79 on Monday to finish tied for 27th.
Logan Connaughton (Matawan, N.J./Matawan Regional) carded a 36-hole score of 158 to finish tied for 39th. The sophomore posted a round of 78 in the first round and a score of 80 on Monday.
Cody Mewhirter (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) finished tied for 45th overall with a score of 159, shooting a score of 78 on Sunday and carding an 81 in the second round.
Kyle Chittim (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) was tied for 49th with a 160. He scored a 78 on Sunday and an 82 on Monday.
Sam Lee (Rockville, Md./Rockville), playing his first collegiate tournament, finished 62nd with a 162, including posting the team's only other round in the 70s on Monday with a 77 after shooting an 85 on Sunday.
The Green Terror returns to action with the B-team at Susquehanna on Saturday and the A-team at the Rehoboth Beach Invitational hosted by Penn on Monday.
