McDaniel finishes 10th at NYU Invitational
SUFFERN, N.Y. – Morgan Koopman (Finksburg, Md./McDonogh) shot a 36-hole total of 165 to lead McDaniel to a 10th-place finish at the NYU Invitational in women's golf action on Saturday and Sunday.
As a team, the Green Terror combined to shoot a total of 741 over the two days, improving from a score 375 on Saturday to a round of 366 on Sunday.
Williams won the 11-team tournament that featured some of the top Division III teams in the northeast with a score of 630 (311-319).
Koopman fired a round of 85 before shooting a season-low score of 80 on Sunday to finished tied for 15th overall.
Freshman Alise McNutt (Flourtown, Pa./Mount St. Joseph) posted her best two rounds of the young season, carding a 90 on Saturday and an 89 on Sunday to finish with a 179 and 34th overall.
Katie Pass (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished 51st overall with a score of 194, posting matching rounds of 97.
Katherine Restrepo (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) fired a combined 203 (103-100) to finish tied for 56th while Mary Yates (Phoenix, Md./Hereford) posted a 218 (110-108) to finish 62nd.
McDaniel returns to action at Stevenson on Oct. 1. Tee time is 1 p.m.
