Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – Johns Hopkins, ranked fourth in the latest d3soccer.com poll, kept its undefeated record in tact with a 8-0 Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer victory over McDaniel on Wednesday.
Jan Woolley (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) made seven saves in the first 55 minutes for the Green Terror (2-13, 1-8 CC), who were able to muster three first-half shots against a team that entered the day outscoring its opponents 63-3 on the season.
Pamela Vranis recorded a hat trick for the Blue Jays (16-0, 9-0 CC), who scored five goals in the second half to set up a Saturday showdown with Gettysburg for hosting rights in the upcoming CC tournament.
Vranis staked Johns Hopkins to a 1-0 lead knocking in off the far post directly off a Pam Kopfensteiner in the 21st minute.
Hannah Kronick tapped in a Paulina Goodman pass to double the advantage just 2:07 later.
Vranis made it a two-goal first-half, scoring off a rebound in the final 11 seconds of the stanza.
Vranis stretched the lead to 4-0 in the 70th minute before Kronick made it a two-goal day 24 seconds later.
Two Erica Suter unassisted goals and a Kelly Baker tally in the final 15:10 set the final margin.
Johns Hopkins finished with a 32-4 advantage in shots. Meghan Sturgill (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) had two of the shots for McDaniel.
The Green Terror concludes the season at home against Washington (Md.) on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
