Green Terror resumes indoor season with limited squad

LEWISBURG, Pa. – C.J. Naper (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll) recorded the top individual finish of the day and was part of both top-five relay teams to lead McDaniel at the Gulden Relays hosted by Bucknell in men's indoor track and field action on Saturday.

Naper crossed ninth overall in the 500 with a time of 1:12.29 before running the anchor leg of both the sprint medley relay and 4x200-meter relay.

The medley relay, which included James Ways (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill), Chuck Kronmiller (Norristown, Pa./Methacton) and Jake Nichols (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) ahead of Naper, finished fifth in a time of 3:46.78.

Alex Rieser (Washington, D.C./McLean School of Maryland) joined Ways, Nichols and Naper on the 4x200 relay, which was fifth in a time of 1:39.98.

Joe Rollins (Temple Hills, Md./Surrattsville) turned in a personal-best time of 7.23 seconds in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash for the 12th-best time but pulled up with injury late in the finals to finish 15th in a time of 8.01 seconds.

Nichols finished 10th in the 60 hurdles with a Centennial Conference-qualifying time of 9.07 seconds.

Carlos Hernandez (Derwood, Md./Magruder) finished 13th in the shot put with a throw of 10.32 meters.

The Green Terror returns to action at the Gulden Relays hosted by Bucknell on Jan. 8.
