Green Terror notches four conference qualifiers

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – C.J. Naper (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll) won the mile to lead McDaniel at the Orange & Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna in men's indoor track and field action on Sunday.

Naper finished the mile in a time of 4:39.51 to win by nearly two seconds as one of four Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying marks turned in by the Green Terror.

James Ways (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished fifth in the 200 with a conference-qualifying time of 23.83 seconds.

Jake Nichols (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) finished sixth in the finals of the 55 hurdles with a time of 8.43 while Chuck Kronmiller (Norristown, Pa./Methacton) was 16th in the 55 dash with a time of 7.09 to round out qualifiers.

Ways and Nichols joined Alex Rieser (Washington, D.C./McLean School of Maryland) and Louis Lachman (Woodstock, Md./Marriotts Ridge)  on the 4x200-meter relay that finished sixth in a time of 1:39.63.

Naper, Ways, Nichols and Lachman teamed for a seventh-place showing in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:43.02.

Carlos Hernandez (Derwood, Md./Magruder) finished seventh in the weight throw with his toss of 10.89 meters. He was also 17th in the shot put with a hurl of 10.61 meters – an indoor personal best.

The Green Terror returns to action at the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason on Saturday.
