McDaniel places fourth in Metro Meet to open season
COCKEYSVILLE, Md. – Jake Zamostny (Mt. Airy, Md./South
Carroll) finished in 10th place overall in his McDaniel debut to
pace the Green Terror to a fourth-place showing at the Baltimore
Metro Meet in men's cross country action on Friday.
McDaniel placed fourth in the sixth-team event and was third
among the four Division III teams, finishing the 5,000-meter event
with 102 points. Johns Hopkins was first with 20 points. Morgan
State finished third with 86 while Goucher was third with 88.
Goucher's Joey Negreann won the race with a time of
16:07.64. Zamostny completed the course in a time of 16:54.80,
following a pack of eight Blue Jays across the line.
CJ Naper (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll) crossed 16th in a time
of 17:11.44.
Ron Shriver (Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) was 30th
overall (18:07.60) while Torin Lehmann (Sitka, Alaska/Sitka) was
41st (19:31.75).
The Green Terror returns to action in its home invitational on
Saturday, Sept. 11. The first race begins at 9:40 a.m.
