Zamostny places third to pace Green Terror
YORK, Pa. – Jake Zamostny
(Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) finished third in his first
collegiate 8,000-meter race to lead McDaniel to a fourth-place
finish at the Coach Achtzehn Classic hosted by York (Pa.) in men's
cross country action on Saturday.
The Green Terror registered 124 point to tie Hood for fourth
place. Franklin & Marshall won the event with 30 points while
the host Spartans and St. Mary's (Md.) placed second (54) and third
(99), respectively.
Not only did Zamostny place third with a time of 27:32.15 but he
also ran the third fastest Green Terror time on the John Rudy
course layout.
CJ Naper (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll) placed eighth overall
with a time of 27:58.05, a 42-second improvement from his 2009
performance on the course.
Ron Shriver
(Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) also made great strides from a
year ago, running 23 seconds faster with a time of 28:48.70 to
place 18th overall.
McDaniel returns to action at the Paul Short Invitational hosted
by Lehigh on Friday, Oct. 1.
