Green Terror posts round of 326 in CC championship preview
ELVERSON, Pa. - Alex Campbell (Howell,
N.J./Wall) carded a round of 78 to finish eighth overall
and lead McDaniel to a fifth-place finish at the Ursinus
Invitational at Stonewall in men's golf action on Tuesday.
The Green Terror combined to shoot a round of 326 in the 13-team
tournament that included all seven teams that will take part in
next weekend's Centennial Conference championship on the same
course.
Franklin & Marshall won the event with a round of 301.
Coming off a 36-hole tournament in Pittsburgh over the weekend,
McDaniel battled its coolest and wettest round in two weeks to
shoot its highest round since carding a 327 in the second round of
its own tournament on Mar. 28.
Paul Kovalcheck
(Fairless Hills, Pa./Truman) posted a round of 80 to
finish 14th overall.
Greg
Bowman (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) and Bryan Johnson
(Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) each fired rounds of 84
while KJ Mazurek (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven)
carded an 87.
Playing as individuals, Chris Merrill (Kingsville,
Md./Fallston) matched Kovalcheck with an 80 while
Jeff
Smith (Elkridge, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) joined Bowman
and Johnson with a round of 84.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Navy Invitational on
Saturday and Sunday.
