Green Terror notches pair of top-8 finishers in final action
before championships
CARLISLE, Pa. - C.J. Naper (New Windsor, Md./South
Carroll) finished fifth in the 800 to lead McDaniel to a
12th-place showing at the DuCharme Invitational hosted by Dickinson
in men's track and field action on Saturday.
The Green Terror recorded 18 points as a team. Dickinson won the
meet with 137 points.
Naper was the top individual finisher for McDaniel, crossing
fifth with a time of 2:01.64.
Kevin Bowmn (Westminster, Md./Brunswick) added
a seventh-place finish in the 3,000, finishing in a time of
9:20.58.
The 4x800-meter relay finished second in a time of 8:43.75 while
the 4x200-meter relay was fifth in a time of 1:40.29.
Eric Spioch (Westminster, Md./Westminster)
finished 11th in the 55 hurdles with a time of 9.46 seconds and led
the way in the field events with a 14th-place showing in the triple
jump (10.68 meters).
Steve Wetherhold (Catasauqua, Pa./Catasauqua)
added a 15th-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 11.74
meters.
James Ways (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill)
finished 12th in the 55 (6.89) while Rick Gonzalez
(Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills) was 13th in the 55 hurdles
(9.91).
The Green Terror returns to action at the Centennial Conference
Championships hosted by Haverford on Saturday. Action begins at 10
a.m.
