Koopman, Weiner fired rounds of 87 to pace squad
HAMPSTEAD, Md. – Jennie Weiner (Setauket, N.Y./Ward
Melville) and Morgan Koopman (Finksburg, Md./McDonogh) both fired
rounds of 87 to lead McDaniel to a second-place finish at the
McDaniel Fall Invitational at Piney Branch Golf Club in
women's golf action on Sunday.
The Green Terror carded a 357 in the preview event for the
spring's Centennial Conference championship, which will be
held at the same course as a 36-hole event on Apr. 16-17.
Gettysburg bettered McDaniel by four strokes, firing a 353 in
cool and breezy conditions on a course that had seen more than five
inches of rain over the later part of last week.
The Bullets' Kara McNulty won the individual crown with a
round of 82.
Weiner and Koopman finished tied for second while Jennipher Bencriscutto (Oro Valley, Ariz./Ironwood Ridge) finished a stroke
back tied for fourth place with a round of 88.
Katherine Restrepo (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) posted a
score of 95 to finish ninth overall.
McDaniel concludes the fall schedule at the Navy Fall
Invitational on Saturday.
