Green Terror cards 306 in final round to overcome 13-stroke
deficit
McMURRY, Pa. – Greg Bowman (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville)
carded an even-par 72 on Monday to finish with a two-round score of
155 and finish tied for fourth, leading McDaniel to a first-place
finish at the Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational hosted by
Washington & Jefferson in men's golf action on Sunday and
Monday.
The Green Terror trailed the host Presidents by 13 strokes after
carding a 326 compared to W&J's 313 on the 6,830-yard
Southpointe Golf Club before scoring 20 strokes better on Monday at
the 6,695-yard Rolling Hills Country Club.
McDaniel finished with a two-day score of 632 after the
second-round 306 while Washington & Jefferson carded a 633
(313-320). St. John Fisher, despite a tournament-low round of 304
on Monday, finished tied with the Presidents at 633 (329-304).
Bowman finished Sunday tied for 13th place overall with a round
of 83 but turned in his second even-par round of the fall to finish
in the top 5.
Paul Kovalcheck (Fairless Hills, Pa./Truman) matched Bowman with
a two-day total of 155, registering a round of 74 on Monday after
turning in an 81 on Sunday.
KJ Mazurek (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven), who posted a
team-low score of 75 in the opening round, finished tied for
seventh with a 157.
Logan Connaughton (Matawan, N.J./Matawan Regional) finished with
a two-day score of 165, recording a round of 87 on Sunday and 78 on
Monday while Chris Merrill (Kingsville, Md./Fallston) finished with
a 171 (89-82).
Kyle Chittim (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) finished with a 172
(88-84), playing as an individual.
The Green Terror concludes the fall season at the Gettysburg
Fall Invitational on Wednesday. Tee time is 12:30 p.m.
