Zamostny places 50th to pace Green Terror
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Jake Zamostny
(Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) finished 50th overall to lead
McDaniel to a 24th-place finish at the prestigious Brooks Paul
Short Run hosted by Lehigh in men's cross country action on
Friday.
Zamostny completed the 8,000-meter course in a time of 27:37 to
lead the Green Terror in the white race as part of the three-race
format that placed teams in races based on expected times. The
32-team white race featured teams from Division II, Division III
and junior colleges. McDaniel accumulated 667 points, averaging
30:20 as a team. Rowan won the race with 99 points, edging
Swarthmore by two points.
On a wet and muddy course that had already featured six races on
Friday after heavy rains blanketed the region on Thursday, CJ Naper (New Windsor,
Md./South Carroll) added a top-100 finish in the 293-man field,
crossing 87th in a time of 28:16.
Ron Shriver
(Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) crossed the line 145th overall
in a time of 29:16 while Torin Lehmann
(Sitka, Alaska/Sitka) was 223rd in a time of 31:39.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Hornet Harrier hosted
by Shenandoah on Saturday, Oct. 9.
