Green Terror place 16th in long half of 30-team Long-Short

CARLISLE, Pa. - Rob Kelvey (Westminster,
Md./Westminster) finished 33rd overall in the 8,100-meter
race to lead McDaniel to an 18th-place showing at the Dickinson
Long-Short Invitational in men's cross country action on Saturday.
The Green Terror, behind a 185-point performance in the long
race, finished with 436 points to finish 18th of the 19 complete
teams. There were 30 teams that competed in at least one of the
races.
Dickinson won the event with a combined 44 points while Carnegie
Mellon was second with 50.
Kelvey finished the Carlisle High School course in a time of
27:54.2, the program's 23rd fastest time in the 21 years the squad
has raced on that course.
CJ Naper (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll)
finished 79th in a time of 29:11.5 while Ron Shriver
(Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) was 97th in a time of
29:47.
In the 4K race, Russell Morin (Lusby,
Md./Patuxent) led McDaniel with an 88th-place showing,
finishing in a time 14:08.2 - the eighth fastest 4,000-meter time
in program history.
Matthew Hale (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon)
finished in a time of 14:48.5 while Graham Miles (Hartford,
Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) crossed in a time of 15:25.
The Green Terror returns to action at the York (Pa.)
Invitational on Saturday.
