HERSHEY, Pa. – KJ Mazurek (Rumson,
N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven) carded a two-round score of 154 to
lead McDaniel to a fourth-place finish at the Mid-Atlantic Region
Championships at Hershey Country Club in men's golf action on
Sunday and Monday.
The Green Terror posted a two-round total of 632 after recording a
309 in Sunday's first round. Carnegie Mellon won the team
title with a two-day score of 614, matching Washington &
Jefferson but taking the title on the fifth man's score from
Monday's round.
Allegheny finished third with a score of 623.
Brandon Christo (Elmira) won the individual title
with a two-day score of 149.
Mazurek carded a 78 in the first round and was the only McDaniel
player to improve his score in worse weather conditions on Monday
with a 76 to finish tied for ninth.
Alex Campbell (Howell, N.J./Wall) posted matching
rounds of 78 to register a 156 and finish tied for 14th
overall.
Paul Kovalcheck (Fairless Hills, Pa./Truman), who
was tied for second after Sunday with a round of 74, finished tied
for 22nd place with a 158.
Greg Bowman (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) shot a
79 in the first round before finishing six shots worse in the
second round to finish with a 164.
Jeff Smith (Elkridge, Md./Cardinal Gibbons)
recorded a two-day score of 172 (87-85).
The Green Terror returns to action at the Elizabethtown
Invitational on Thursday.
