SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Juris Eyler (Middletown,
Md./Middletown) finished fifth in the 400 to lead McDaniel
at the Paul Kaiser Invitational hosted by Shippensburg in
men's and women's outdoor track and field action on
Saturday.
Eyler completed the race in 50.96 seconds to add a fifth-place
finish to his 10th (23.35) in the 200 and
17th (11.72) in 100.
Ken Polk added the Green Terror's lone other
top-10 finish with a sixth-place showing in the triple jump,
leaping 12.80 meters. He also jumped 5.31 meters in the long jump
and threw the javelin 35.13 meters.
Cody Crutchley (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas
Johnson) added a 17th-place finish in the 800
with at time of 2:03.21.
Jennifer Garnett (Los Altos, Calif./Homestead) led
the women's team with an 11th-place finish in the
400 with a personal-best time of 1:01.23. She also crossed
23rd in the 200 with a time of 27.89
seconds.
Roxanne Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill)
added a 12th-place finish in the 5,000 with a time of
21:34.72.
Heidi Davidhizar was 14th in the 100
hurdles (17.26 seconds) while Laura Shinn (Weehawken,
N.J./Pennington) crossed 17th in the 3,000
(12:51.05).
McDaniel returns to action at the Centennial Conference
Championships hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Friday-Sunday.
