SUNSET BEACH, N.C. – KJ Mazurek (Rumson,
N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven) carded a 75 to finish tied for
second overall and lead McDaniel to a second-place finish at the
Myrtle Beach Shootout in men's golf action on Tuesday.
Playing its first competitive round of the spring, the Green Terror
posted a combined score of 311 at the Maples Course at Sea
Trail.
Only third-raked Potomac State bettered McDaniel's team score
with a round of 309 on a course that was playing more than 600
longer than its marked 6552 with 15-25 mph winds and a wet course
after a full day of rain on Monday.
Potomac's Brian Affleck claimed the
individual title with a score of one-over par 72.
Alex Campbell (Howell, N.J./Wall) finished one
stroke behind Mazurek in fourth place with a round of
76.
Greg Bowman (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) shot a
79 to finish tied for 10th while Paul Kovalcheck
(Fairless Hills, Pa./Truman) and Jeff Smith
(Elkridge, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) each posted a round of 81
to finish tied for 18th.
New York University placed third with a 314 while Division I St.
Peter's shot a combined 319 to finish fourth.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Gettysburg Spring
Invitational on Tuesday. Tee time is 1 p.m.
