Green Terror card 369 in preview of conference
championship
HAMPSTEAD, Md. - Nicole Cristy (Towson, Md./Bryn
Mawr) and Jennie Weiner (Setauket, N.Y./Ward
Melville) each carded a round of 90 to lead McDaniel to a
second-place finish at the McDaniel Fall Invitational in women's
golf action on Thursday.
As a team, the Green Terror shot a 369 at Piney Branch Golf
Club, the home of the 2010 Centennial Conference women's golf
championship, in field comprised mostly of the teams that will
battle over 36 homes in the spring for the conference title.
Gettysburg won the event with a 365 while Franklin &
Marshall, the only other complete team in the field, fired a 398.
Cristy and Weiner finished in a tie for sixth place.
Gettysburg's Caroline Nathan and Penn's
Elizabeth Kresock each fired a tournament-low
round of 86 but Nathan won the individual medalist honors on
tiebreakers.
Morgan Koopman (Finksburg, Md./McDonogh) shot a
93 for McDaniel to finish tied for eighth while Val Saucier
(Cockeysville, Md./Dulaney) finished with a score of 96.
Anna Bencriscutto (Oro Valley, Ariz./Ironwood
Ridge) posted a 101 while Amy Glock (Lineboro,
Md./Hereford) posted a 117.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Bucknell/McDaniel
Invitational on Oct. 18 and 19 at the Regent's Glen Golf Course.
