Pickard tallies two for Green Terror in 3-0 win

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Mandy Pickard (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) recorded a pair of goals to lead McDaniel to a 3-0 victory over Muhlenberg in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Saturday.

The Green Terror (5-6, 3-1 CC) finished with a 13-8 advantage in shots for its third straight conference victory.

Kristen Dornenburg led the Mules (6-5, 2-3 CC) with six saves in the cage.

After a hat trick last Saturday in McDaniel's 3-2 win, Lindsay Riordon (Monkton, Md./Hereford) opened the scoring, knocking home a loose ball just 2:35 into the game.

With 5:49 to play in the opening half, Pickard blasted home a shot from the left wing off a corner that was inserted by Kaitlin Boerman (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake).

With only 8:10 elapsed in the second half, Pickard dribbled through the defense and in for her sixth of the season.

Stephanie Thomson (Glen Burnie, Md./Chesapeake) made two saves for McDaniel.

The Green Terror returns to action at Dickinson on Tuesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
