WESTMINSTER, Md. – Kristin Mele (Ellicott City,
Md./River Hill) scored two goals to lead McDaniel in a 9-0
Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey victory over Bryn Mawr on
Saturday.
The Green Terror (5-4, 2-1 CC) finished with a 32-1 advantage in
the shot column and a 15-1 advantage in penalty
corners.
Elizabeth Toft led the Owls (1-7, 0-4 CC) with 16
saves in goal.
Mele got McDaniel on the board early, converting off a penalty
corner at the 6:21 mark.
Michelle Fluty (Huntingtown, Md./Calvert) made it
2-0 off her own rebound in the 18
th minute.
Mandy Pickard (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) found
Mele for a 3-0 lead four minutes later before Jamie Smith
(Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) finished a Kelly
McGarry (Ocean City, Md./Stephen Decatur) assist with 41
seconds remaining in the opening half.
Brooke Dixon (Clayton, Del./Smyrna) made it a
one-goal, one-assist day, opening the five-goal second half just 57
seconds after the break.
Fluty added two assists while Monaghan, Kirwin and Skinner all
added one assist.
The Green Terror returns to action at York (Pa.) on Tuesday. Game
time is 4 p.m.
