SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Val Saucier (Cockeysville,
Md./Dulaney) shot a two-day total of 173 to lead McDaniel
to a 12th-place finish at the Mt. Holyoke Invitational
in women's golf action on Saturday and Sunday.
Saucier fired a round of 86 on Sunday to follow her round of 87 on
Saturday for a 32nd-place finish overall.
The Green Terror combined to shoot a two-day total of 716,
including a round of 349 on Sunday – the team's lowest
round since shooting a 342 at Kutztown in 2005.
Amherst won the 13-team tournament with a two-round total of 657
(328-329).
Jennie Weiner (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville)
matched Saucier on Sunday after carding a 93 on Saturday for a
two-day total of 179.
Elyse Massa (Wescosville, Pa./Emmaus) posted a
two-round total of 181, posting a first-round score of 92 and
second-round tally of 89.
Nicole Cristy (Towson, Md.) posted rounds of 95
and 88, respectively, to finish with a two-day total of
183.
Amy Glock (Lineboro, Md./Hereford) rounded out the
McDaniel competitors with rounds of 115 and 94,
respectively.
The Green Terror returns to action at Gettysburg Invitational on
Oct. 6.
