YORK, Pa. – Lindsay Wilson (Catonsville, Md./Seton
Keogh) won the 5,000-meter women's race to lead
McDaniel to a sweep of the team titles at the York (Pa.)
Invitational in cross country action on Saturday.
Wilson finished with a time of 19:47.48 to win for the second
straight weekend and lead a 1-2-3 individual showing.
Wilson's time was the Green Terror's fifth-fastest
all-time on the course behind only three-time NCAA qualifier Jill
Krebs and current McDaniel assistant Diana Pool.
The Green Terror finished with 24 points, easily outdistancing the
host Spartans by 63 points.
The McDaniel men also took first, tallying 34 points to edge York
by five.
Roxanne Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill)
and Emily Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine)
followed Wilson across time line, completing the course in times of
20:03.50 and 20:36.14, respectively.
Emma Nichols (Myersville, Md./Middletown) crossed
seventh overall with a time of 21:17.38 while Jennifer
Garnett (Los Altos, Calif./Homestead) finished
11th (21:41.83).
In the men's 8K race, Kevin Bowman (Westminster,
Md./Brunswick) led a 4-5-6 finish for the Green Terror,
crossing in a time of 27:37.16. C.J. Naper (New Windsor,
Md./South Carroll) (27:39.64) and Dustin Smith
(Kotzebue, Alaska/Homeschool) (27:45.05) rounded out the
trio.
Dan White (Union Bridge, Md./Francis Scott Key)
finished eighth overall with a time of 28:01.94 while
Russell Morin (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) was
11th with a time of 28:01.94.
McDaniel returns to action at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by
Lehigh on Oct. 3.
