HAMPSTEAD, Md. – Elyse Massa (Wescosville,
Pa./Emmaus) carded a two-round total of 181, posting
rounds of 90 and 91, respectively, to lead McDaniel to a team
victory in its own women's golf invitational on Sunday and
Monday at Piney Branch Golf Club.
The Green Terror posted a round of 372 on Sunday and a 373 on
Monday to win the four-team tournament by six strokes with a
combined total of 745. SUNY Cortland was second with a score of 751
after recording a tournament-low round of 360 in the second
round.
Vicki Kasza of Hollins won the individual medalist
honors with a two-day score of 160 that included a second-round
tally of 76.
Val Saucier (Cockeysville, Md./Dulaney) finished
seventh overall with a round of 183 (93-90) while Nicole
Cristy (Towson, Md.) was ninth, carding a 190 with
matching scores of 95.
Jennie Weiner (Stony Brook, N.Y,/Ward Melville)
was 10th overall with a score of 191 (94-97) while
Amy Glock (Lineboro, Md./Hereford) rounded out the
McDaniel competitors with a two-day score of 221
(111-110).
Tara Frederiks (Fairfield, Pa./Fairfield) played
as an individual and finished with a 213 (105-108)
The Green Terror returns to action at its own spring invitational
on Mar. 28-29 at the Bridges Golf Club.
