Biography

As a freshman, Carstensen started all 15 games she appeared in, making her debut against York (PA). She had an 11-3-1 record allowing 1.28 goals per game and had 2 shutouts, 3 combined. She faced 154 shots, with 54 saves allowing 18 goals, posting a .750 save percentage. 

As a sophomore, Carstensen started all 23 games she appeared in, making her season debut against St. Mary's (MD). She had a 17-6-0 record allowing 0.70 goals per game, with 12 shutouts/combined shutouts. She faced 149 shots, making 64 saves, allowing 17 goals, posting a .805 save percentage. 

As a senior, Carstensen started in all 21 games, making her season debut against Catholic. She had an 18-2-1 record, allowing 0.27 goals per game, with 17 shutouts. Carstensen faced 126 shots, with 52 saves, only allowing 5 goals, posting a .909 save percentage. To add to that, Carstensens strong leg earned her 2 points on the season, with an assist to Hannah Schepers against Catholic, and again to Schepers against Virginia Wesleyan. Carstensen led the Green Terror to a conference championship, and a NCAA playoff berth, winning against Penn State Harrisburg. After the season, Carstensen was named First Team All Conference, First Team All Region, and a First Team All American. 

As a Graduate Student, Carstensen started 19 games, and made her debut against Virginia Wesleyan. The second game of the season, facing the #1 ranked team in the country Carstensen forced a tie, not allowing a single goal in. Carstensen led the Green Terror to an 8-6-5 record on the season, allowing 0.88 goals per game with 8 shutouts/combined shutouts. Carstensen faced 155 shots, with 73 saves and allowing 16 goals posting a .820 save percentage. Carstensen helped the Green Terror to the Centennial Conference Playoffs, beating Franklin & Marshall in PK's, a repeat from the Conference Championship the year prior, but then falling short against the eventual National Champion Johns Hopkins Blue Jays. After the season, Carstensen was named Centennial Conference First Team All Conference, and First Team All Region to cap off a stellar career.
