Lauren Naab, formerly Lauren Godde, begins her sixth year at McDaniel in 2025-26 and her second as Assistant Director of Athletics. She served as the department's Equipment & Event Operations Manager as well as assistant women's basketball coach and assistant strength and conditioning coach from 2019-23.
Naab came to McDaniel after spending one season as an assistant coach under current head women's basketball coach Christin Gowan at Southern Vermont in 2018-19. She also served as an assistant volleyball coach.
A 2014 graduate of Cal State Stanislaus with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and minor in psychology, Naab played four seasons for the Warriors alongside her twin sister, Erin. Lauren was a two-time All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) selection, earning second team honors in 2013 and 2014. She ranks fifth all-time in program history with 1,207 career points and third with 757 rebounds while totaling 18 double doubles.
Naab led the team in scoring and rebounding as a senior, averaging 13.6 points and 6.5 rebounds after finishing fourth in the league in scoring as a junior with a career-high 15.3 points per game. As a sophomore, she led the CCAA in rebounding with 9.8 per game in 2011-12. Also that year, she set a school record for most points in a road game with 39 at Dominican on Nov. 17, 2012.
Following graduation, Naab played professionally for the Newcastle Knights in England as well as Pol. Libertas Calendasco in Italy. She earned a master’s in educational leadership and management from Newcastle University and a master’s in strength and conditioning with a focus in athletic performance from Northumbria University. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Naab and her husband, John, currently live in Westminster.
