Christin Gowan begins her seventh season at the helm of the Green Terror women's basketball program in 2025-26.
The 2024-25 campaign was Gowan's best as she led the Green Terror to 18 wins and an appearance in the Centennial Conference Tournament, the program's first since 2016. The team's 18 victories was its highest single-season total since 2015-16 and marked a six-win improvement from 2023-24. McDaniel earned a spot in the 2025 ECAC DIII Women's Basketball Championship and defeated Alvernia 52-39 in the opening round. Gowan and her staff earned Centennial Conference Coaching Staff of the Year honors for their efforts during the season.
The 2023-24 season marked another three-win improvement for Gowan and the Green Terror as McDaniel climbed to a 12-13 finish. Sophomore Elaina Beckett made the All-Centennial Conference Second Team while freshman Teya McConnaha won the conference's Rookie of the Year Award.
2022-23 saw McDaniel improve by three wins as freshman Elaina Beckett earned a spot on the All-Centennial Conference Second Team. The 2021-22 season was highlighted by junior Josey Klingenberg winning the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Gowan guided the Green Terror to 10 wins in her debut season of 2019-20 after having spent the previous two seasons as the head coach at Southern Vermont College.
Gowan improved her Mountaineers team each season at the helm, culminating with the team’s first conference tournament appearance in four years in 2019. While at Southern Vermont, she also served as associate director of athletics, serving as senior woman’s administrator and overseeing compliance and game-day management. She also served as interim director of athletics.
Prior to her arrival in Bennington, she was an assistant coach at Occidental College in Los Angeles from 2015-17 and an assistant coach at Division II California State University-Stanislaus, where she earned her bachelor of arts in psychology in 2011.
While a student at Stanislaus, Gowan was a four-year member of the women’s basketball team and was named the institution’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year as a senior. She also earned a spot on the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s All-Academic Team three times. She was a CoSIDA Academic All-District second team selection in 2011.
Gowan earned her master of arts in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia-Irvine in 2013.
