Bret Altimore

Altimore guided the FC Ballyhoo 07b team to the clubs first National Championship this past Summer.  He has served as an asst coach for the York College womens team for 3 years.  Prior to working with the Spartans Altimore was the head coach at Dover High School.

Altimore’s accomplishments as the Dover head coach are numerous. The Eagles went undefeated during the YAIAA 2013 regular season as Dover had a 21-game unbeaten streak. The Eagles won 32 league games in a row between 2012 and 2014 and are the only Division II team to win back-to-back league titles. The Eagles made their first and only state tournament appearance in 2013. Dover also won two division championships, 2013 and they were co-champions in 2014.

Altimore was named the YAIAA Division II Coach of the Year in 2013.

At William Byrd High School, Altimore led the Terriers to the Blue Ridge District Tournament championship in 2000, 2001 (co- champions), 2002, 2005, and 2007. He led the Terriers to the VHSL AA State Tournament semi- finals in 2002 and was also the VHSL AA Region VI runner-ups.

He was named the Blue Ridge District Coach of the Year in 2004, the All-Timesland Coach of the Year in 2002 and the Blue Ridge District Co-Coach of the Year in 2002. He owns an NSCAA National Diploma.

Altimore earned a Bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice with a minor in Sociology from Ferrum College. Altimore has worked in various aspects of law enforcement during his professional career.
