Echols returns to his alma mater as an assistant coach for the 2019-20 season

Echols played in 91 games with 79 starts for the Green Terror from 2012-16. Echols is ranked in the top 20 in school history for career 3-pointers and top 25 for career 3-point field goal percentage. During his time on the Hill, McDaniel had a winning record in all four years and made it to the postseason each year.

Not only does Echols bring experience as a player, but also as a coach. He served as an assistant coach at Hammond High School, where he played his high school ball, from 2017-19.

Echols graduated in 2016 with a bachelor's in communication.
