ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - The McDaniel College women's soccer team posted their second-straight shutout as it battled host St. Mary's (MD) to a 0-0 tie to close out the Seahawk Classic on Saturday at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.
The Green Terror (1-0-2) extended their unbeaten streak to three games to start the 2026 season and their defensive scoreless streak to 197:10. Sophomore
Sierra Ruehl also earned her third career shutout.
McDaniel controlled the game from start to finish, holding a 21-5 advantage in shots and a 9-2 margin in penalty corners.
The visitors had 11 shots on goal, eight of which were saved by Seahawk keeper Breanna Brown and three that were stopped by defenders for team saves.
The Green Terror totaled 11 shots in the first half and 10 in the second when they also had a 4-0 edge in corner kicks. Led by senior captain
Alexis Keller-Posen, the defense limited St. Mary's (1-1-1) to just five shots, none of which were on goal.
The result improved McDaniel's record to 4-2-3 against its in-state rival since 2010 and 1-2-2 in five meetings on the road.
After opening the season with three-straight road contests, the Green Terror make their home debut on Wednesday when they host Hood in their third-straight meeting against a team from the state of Maryland. Kickoff is at 4 p.m. at the Soccer Complex.
