LANCASTER, Pa. - Senior Kat Thayer posted her sixth hat-trick of the season as the McDaniel College women's lacrosse team fell at No. 21 Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday at Shadek Stadium.

Despite the loss, the Green Terror (6-9, 0-6 CC) finished with a winning record in nine road games this season, posting a 5-4 record.

Thayer finished with three goals on four shots for her 15th career hat-trick. She leads the team with 36 goals this season. She also added one ground ball and two draw controls.

Junior Emily Conklin totaled three ground balls, two caused turnovers, and three draw controls. She leads the team with 30 caused turnovers this season and is second with 40 ground balls and 51 draw controls.

The Diplomats (5-8, 4-1 CC) scored nine first-quarter goals and took a 12-0 lead with 10:47 remaining in the second quarter before Thayer put the visitors on the board with 4:23 left off an assist from senior Addison Utterback.

Franklin & Marshall led 13-1 at halftime and increased its lead to 17-3 after three. Thayer scored both McDaniel goals in the third quarter following two green cards on the Diplomats.

Utterback picked up her second assist of the game on a feed to Claire Hamilton with 7:51 to play in the fourth before F&M scored the game's last three goals to provide the final margin.

Hamilton has scored a career-high four goals this season while matching her career highs in games played with 11. All four of her goals have come in the team's last six games.
