LANCASTER, Pa. – The McDaniel College softball team dropped both games of a road conference doubleheader with Franklin & Marshall on Saturday.
A two-run triple from junior
Riley Jackson highlighted a 4-2 loss in the opener for the Green Terror (11-16, 3-5).
Game 1: Franklin & Marshall 4, McDaniel 2
The opener remained scoreless until the fourth inning, when the Diplomats (12-14, 4-4) plated two runs on an RBI-single and a sacrifice fly. Jackson tied the game in the sixth inning with a two-run triple to score sophomore

Franklin & Marshall responded in the bottom half of the sixth with two runs on an RBI-double and an RBI-single, taking a 4-2 lead. The Green Terror loaded the bases in the top of the seventh but left the winning runs stranded to fall in the opener to the Diplomats.
Jackson led the way at the plate with a two-run triple, going 1-for-3 on the day. Senior
Ryan Smith had two hits from the leadoff spot and sophomore
Cameron Kelly went 2-for-4 as the designated player. Junior

Morgan Rogers all had base hits in the loss.
Rogers took the loss in the circle, totaling two strikeouts, four walks, one earned run and six hits on 103 pitches.
Game 2: Franklin & Marshall 6, McDaniel 2
The Diplomats broke through in the second inning on an RBI-single to go ahead 1-0. Senior
Chloe Candeloro knotted the game at 1-1 in the top of the fourth on a sacrifice fly to score fellow senior
Taylor Applefeld.
Franklin & Marshall then scored three runs in the bottom half of the fourth, first on a sacrifice bunt and then on a bunt RBI-single and an RBI-single up the middle to take a 4-1 lead. Smith scored for McDaniel in the fifth on another sacrifice bunt from junior
Amy Anderson, cutting the deficit to 4-2. The Diplomats answered with two runs in the sixth, scoring on an error and an RBI-double to move in front 6-2. The Green Terror went down in order to end the game and secure the sweep for Franklin & Marshall.
Anderson and Candeloro each collected an RBI while Smith had a hit and a run scored in four plate appearances. McBride, Boden, Kelly, Applefeld and first-year
Emma McPherson all collected hits for McDaniel in defeat.
Kelly fell to 7-3 on the year with the loss, pitching 3.2 innings and totaling three strikeouts, three walks, one earned run and five hits. Anderson pitched 2.1 innings in relief, collecting a strikeout and a walk while allowing an earned run and three hits.
The Green Terror continue an eight-game road trip on Tuesday for a conference doubleheader against Dickinson. First pitch is slated for 3 pm.
