Kohr Makes 300th Save in Conference Opener at Muhlenberg

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Senior Caleigh Kohr made her 300th career save as the McDaniel College women's lacrosse team fell at Muhlenberg Saturday night in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams, 18-4.

The Green Terror (6-4, 0-1 CC) lost its first game in the last six as the Mules totaled 34 shots, a season high for a McDaniel opponent, while winning 19 out of 24 draw controls.

Kohr tied her season high with seven saves in her seventh start of the season. She now has 306 saves in 57 career games, becoming the ninth player in program history to total at least 300. She is currently tied for eighth on the program's all-time saves list with Sarah White who had 306 from 2005-08.

Muhlenberg (8-0, 1-0 CC) scored the game's first seven goals to take a 7-0 lead after the first quarter as it out-shot the visitors, 11-5.

Senior Addison Utterback got the Green Terror on the board just 41 seconds into the second quarter as she netted her 20th goal of the season off an assist from senior Kat Thayer. Utterback posted her second-straight 20-goal season and finished with 22 after recording her fourth hat-trick of the season and third in the last four games.

The Mules would answer with three more tallies before senior Charlotte Alexander scored with 54 seconds remaining in the first half as Muhlenberg led 10-2 at halftime.

Utterback added her second goal just 51 seconds into the second half off an assist from first-year Grace Legacy, but the Mules scored the final six goals of the third quarter to take a 16-3 lead after three.

Utterback added her third goal and second off a feed from Thayer with 9:26 left in the fourth before Ella Nagle scored her first of the season for the Mules with 7:42 to play to provide the final margin.

Kohr played the first three quarters before giving way to first-year Nicole Ruther for the fourth. Junior Abby Goodman finished with two ground balls and two caused turnovers while Thayer had two assists, three ground balls, one caused turnover, and one draw control.

Following a three-game road trip, McDaniel returns home for the first time since March 7 when it hosts Haverford next Saturday, March 28 at Gill Stadium. Opening draw is set for noon.
