Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

McDaniel Falls in Overtime to Washington College, 50-45

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Junior Teya McConnaha recorded her sixth consecutive double double, but the McDaniel College women's basketball team fell in overtime to Washington College Wednesday on Rebecca L. Martin Court, 50-45.

The Green Terror (16-4, 5-4 CC) fell for just the fourth time in 13 home games this season. They also dropped their fourth-straight at home to the Shorewomen.

Wednesday also marked the first overtime game for McDaniel since a 48-45 setback at Dickinson on Dec. 4, 2024. Meanwhile, it was the team's first overtime contest at home since a 68-64 win over York (PA) on Nov. 15, 2023.

The game was another tightly-contested, low scoring affair between the two teams as the series as neither have scored more than 56 points in each of the five meetings. During that time, the two teams have combined for 99 points or less.

McConnaha finished with 11 points and 16 rebounds. She went 3-for-4 from three-point range and over her last two home games is 8-for-10 from behind the arc. Over her six-game double double streak, she is averaging 15.3 points and 13.7 rebounds.

Sophomore Lauren Cavoli finished with 19 points, including 15 on five three-pointers while recording four steals. She attempted a career-high 23 field goals, including 18 from behind the arc.

The Green Terror forced 19 turnovers and grabbed 44 rebounds, but struggled from the field, going just 16-for-67, including 11-for-36 from three-point range, setting a season high for field goal and three-point field goal attempts and three-pointers made.

McDaniel led 40-36 with 7:31 left in the fourth quarter, but Washington (10-10, 5-5 CC) rallied, tying the game at 42-42 with 2:54 to play. A final three-point attempt by Cavoli was blocked at the buzzer and the game headed to an extra period.

In the final frame, back-to-back baskets by Kaitlyn Boggs gave the visitors a four-point lead before Cavoli cut it to one with a three-pointer at 1:15. However, the Shorewomen secured the win by making 4-of-6 free throw attempts in the final 57 seconds, including 3-of-4 by Boggs.

Sophomore Kendra Mason had five points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals while first-year Peyton Cramer had five points and two assists. Senior Jordan McLean added four points, three rebounds, and two assists.

McDaniel travels to Haverford on Saturday for a 1 p.m. tip-off against the Fords.
