Two Second-Half Goals Lead Gettysburg Past Men's Soccer, 2-0

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Following a scoreless first half, Gettysburg scored two goals to post a 2-0 victory over the McDaniel College men's soccer team Wednesday night on Clark Field.

The Green Terror (7-6-1, 1-6 CC) dropped their fourth-straight road game and first in the last four meetings against the Bullets.

Gettysburg held a 19-7 advantage in shots, including a 10-5 margin in the first half, but could not find the back of the next as senior Tate Roth stopped both shots on goal.

Meanwhile, his counterpart, Anthony Marziliano, made all four of his saves in the first 45 minutes to keep the game scoreless at the half.

The Bullets (8-6-1, 3-3-1 CC) had nine shots in the second half, including six on goal with Tyzo Diallo breaking through for the game's first goal in the 57th minute on the first shot of the half for the home team.

Roth would make three of his four second-half saves before Sergio Neto scored on a free kick from 22 yards out to double the lead with less than 10 minutes remaining.

Roth finished with a season-high six saves in his fourth appearance and third start, including second-straight.

Sophomore Nicholas Clarke, the leading scorer for McDaniel, recorded three of the team's seven shots, including two on goal.

McDaniel hosts its final home game of the regular season on Saturday when it welcomes Dickinson to the Soccer Complex on Senior Day. Kickoff is at noon. Prior to the game, the team will honor its four seniors in Roth, Eyuel Reta, Charlie Olson, and Zakarya Arefian.
