Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Battles Bryn Mawr in One Goal Loss on the Road

BRYN MAWR, Pa. - Carrie Povich scored the game's lone goal with less than four minutes remaining in the first half to give Bryn Mawr a 1-0 win over the McDaniel College field hockey team on Saturday at Shillingford Field.

The Green Terror (3-8, 0-4 CC) have had six games decided by just one goal this season and are now 2-4 in those contests.

The Owls (9-3, 3-2 CC) held a 22-7 edge in shots, but were limited to just one goal due in large part to nine saves from junior Teaghen Rieder. She has totaled 37 saves in four appearances and three starts this season while posting a .755 save percentage.

Bryn Mawr outshot the visitors 6-1 in the second quarter when Povich scored her fourth goal of the season with under four minutes to play.

Rieder totaled seven of her nine saves in the second half as the Owls totaled 15 shots and six penalty corners.

Junior Charley Noah had four of the seven shots for the Green Terror, including the team's lone shot on goal in the third quarter.

McDaniel hosts four of its next five games at home beginning on Wednesday against No. 8 Johns Hopkins at 7 p.m. It will mark the first of back-to-back home games against nationally-ranked competition for the Green Terror as they welcome No. 21 Swarthmore to Gill Stadium next Saturday, October 17.
