ARLINGTON, Va. - Senior Thomas Monn tied the program's career wins record, but Marymount (Va.) won the final two matches by fall to claim a 27-26 come-from-behind victory over the No. 25 McDaniel College men's wrestling team Saturday.

The Green Terror (5-5) totaled five bonus point wins, including three by fall, but the Saints recorded four falls to edge out the one-point victory.

Monn improved his record to 24-0 this season, including 9-0 in dual matches, with a fall over Patrick Martin at 149 pounds in just 17 seconds. The win was the 126th of Monn's career, tying Brock Glotfelty '11 for the most in program history.

Monn is now 126-11 in his career and 57-1 in dual matches. He also recorded the his 58th career fall, two shy of the career record held by Glotfelty and Charlie Conaway '00.

Marymount (7-9) jumped out to a 9-0 lead with a decision and fall at 125 and 133 pounds, respectively, before McDaniel recorded three consecutive falls by Monn, first-year Andrew Dolezel and senior Andre Allen to take an 18-9 advantage.

The Saints pulled within three following a fall at 165 pounds, but back-to-back major decisions by first-year LaDaynean Simpson at 174 pounds and junior Alex Taylor at 184 pounds put the Green Terror in front 26-15 with two matches remaining.

Needing falls in each of the final two matches, the Saints earned the 12 points they needed to win by one, beginning with a third period fall Mohammed Fofana at 197 pounds with just 33 seconds remaining. Fofana is currently ranked sixth in Region 3.

At heavyweight, Basheer Hadi recorded a fall in 4:27 over senior Kaden Bryan who was pinned for the first time in 23 matches this season.

Monn will look to break the program record for career wins on Friday, January 23 when McDaniel hosts Muhlenberg in a Centennial Conference contest at 7 p.m. inside the Gill Center.
