WESTMINSTER, Md. - Sophomore
Mack Langlo totaled a career-best seven saves to keep a clean sheet for the McDaniel College women's soccer team, battling to a scoreless draw on its home field with Ursinus on Saturday.
Lango bested her previous high mark of three saves set against Randolph-Macon on Sept. 3 and Messiah on Sept. 10.
The Green Terror (4-3-2) notched their fifth shutout of the season and have moved to 1-1-1 for their record in the Centennial Conference.
Five players registered a shot for the Green Terror with three shots on goal from first-year
Alaina Miller, junior
Alexis Keller-Posen, and junior
Carly Brock. Brock and Miller both took shots early in the first half, both of which were saved by the Bears (4-3-2) to keep the contest scoreless.
Five of Langlo's saves came in the second half, when Ursinus took 10 shots to McDaniel's four. The Bears fired a shot just over two minutes into the half but could not connect on any of their attempts.
Langlo recorded three of her five second half saves in a six-minute period, shutting down each scoring attempt for the visitors. Sophomore
Gabriella Piantadosi hit the crossbar with a shot at the 75-minute mark, with Keller-Posen's shot coming moments later and resulting in a save for Ursinus. First-Year
Addie Rice also finished the day with a shot attempt.
The Bears held the edge in shot attempts 17-6 and corner kicks 6-4, but McDaniel recorded more saves and committed only three fouls to Ursinus's four.
The Green Terror will play at home again this Wednesday with a 4 pm kickoff against Salisbury.
