WESTMINSTER, Md. – Graduate student
Joey Hubinger went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs to lead the McDaniel College baseball team to a 9-4 win over Gettysburg in the opening round of the 2025 Centennial Conference Baseball Championship.
The win gave the Green Terror (19-20-1, 9-9) a postseason victory for the second consecutive season and a win in their first home playoff game since 2003.

Freshman
Brady Harach only allowed one baserunner in the second, ringing up two strikeouts to keep the Bullets (30-11, 9-9) at bay. Gettysburg tied the game in the third and took a 2-1 lead on an RBI single to center field. The Bullets added an insurance run on a passed ball in the fifth to lead 3-1.
McDaniel answered back with two runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game. McKenna blasted a double to right center field, scoring senior
Shane Daly to cut the deficit to one. Hubinger followed with another RBI double to score McKenna and square the game at 3-3.
After a quick top half of the sixth, the Green Terror plated two more runs in the bottom half to build a lead. Daly hit a single into center field to score freshman
Maximus Mullins and put McDaniel in front, 4-3. Junior
Ben Davis hit another RBI single to pad the lead, scoring sophomore
Patrick Kelly from second.
The Bullets loaded the bases in the seventh, cutting the Green Terror lead to one on an RBI single. Senior
Conor Henderson escaped the jam by inducing a flyout to end the inning with the lead, 5-4.
Hubinger led off the bottom of the seventh with a solo home run, his second homer of the season and second in four days. McDaniel scored twice more in the inning on RBI singles from Haddock and Daly to grow the lead to 8-4.
Sophomore
DJ Stolba hit a pinch-hit RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to score Hubinger and give the Green Terror a five-run lead. The Bullets reached base on a fielder's choice in the ninth but couldn't mount a comeback as the Green Terror secured the postseason win, 9-4.
Hubinger's homer and RBI double capped off a 2-for-4 day at the plate. Daly had a three-hit game, giving him 12 base hits and 11 RBIs in a four-game stretch. Davis and Dean also had multi-hit performances in the win while Haddock finished 2-for-4 with an RBI. McKenna had two RBIs on the day while Stolba earned an RBI in his only plate appearance.
Sophomore
Dominic DiBlasi earned the win in relief of Harach, pitching 3.2 innings and striking out two while walking four and allowing one earned run. Henderson got the save after walking three and allowing one earned run on three hits.
The Green Terror advance to the second round of the 2025 Centennial Conference Baseball Championship where they will travel to Baltimore on Thursday to face top-seeded Johns Hopkins. First pitch is set for 3 pm.
