WESTMINSTER, Md. - Eight different players scored a goal and nine had at least one point as the McDaniel College women's lacrosse team posted a 17-3 win over Illinois Wesleyan Sunday inside Gill Stadium.
The Green Terror (4-2) scored a season-high 17 goals while posting its third win in four home games this season.
Juniors
Charlotte Alexander and
Addison Utterback each scored a career-high four goals while senior
Paris Conord registered her third hat-trick this season with three goals. Conord also added two assists for a career-high five points.
McDaniel scored the game's first eight goals, including three from Conord and three from Utterback, as it took an 8-0 lead with 12:25 remaining in the second quarter.
Freshman
Sam Moser netted her first career goal with 7:21 left in between two Titan tallies as the Green Terror led 9-2 at halftime.
McDaniel scored the first five goals of the second half to take a 14-2 lead before netting all three fourth-quarter tallies. Freshman
Gracie Nash had a hand in two of the three goals, picking up her first career point with an assist on Alexander's third goal with 11:36 to play and scoring her first career goal with 3:05 remaining to provide the final margin.
The Green Terror totaled 17 goals on 36 shots, 18 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers, all season highs. A total of 12 players had at least one caused turnover while eight had at least one draw control.
Conord had two caused turnovers while sophomore
Emily Conklin totaled one goal, one assist, two ground balls, six draw controls and two caused turnovers. Junior
Bellina Sargo also had two caused turnovers to go along with two ground balls.
Junior
Caleigh Kohr made three saves in picking up her fourth win while freshman
Audrey Musser made her first career save in her first career appearance.
The Green Terror continue their six-game home stand on Wednesday when they host Ohio Wesleyan. Opening draw is at 4:30 p.m.
