Elaina Beckett scored 14 points, including the 1,000th of her career as the McDaniel College women's basketball team fell to Allegheny Sunday in the semifinals of the ECAC Women's Basketball Championship, 52-40.
The Green Terror (18-10) conclude their season with their most wins since 2015-16 as well as their first postseason and conference tournament appearance since 2016.
Beckett is the 17th player in program history to score 1,000 career points and first since Lindsey Nichols in 2016. Beckett scored her 1,000th point in her 70th career game on a three-pointer with 7:39 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Beckett finished with 14 points and eight rebounds, both team highs, while sophomore
Teya McConnaha had 13 points and eight rebounds.
The first quarter was back-and-forth and ended in an 11-11 tie. The Gators took a 20-11 lead in the second before McDaniel scored nine of the final 11 points, including five from McConnaha to pull within two at the half.
McConnaha had nine points and Beckett had seven as they combined for 16 of the team's 20 first-half points while combining for nine rebounds.
The third quarter proved to be decisive as Allegheny (20-8) outscored the Green Terror, 17-9. The Gators shot 58.3 percent from the floor compared to 26.7 percent for McDaniel.
Allegheny stretched its lead to as many as 16 points in the fourth. The team scored 34 of its 52 points in the paint and held a 46-34 advantage in rebounds, including 10 on the offensive end which led to 11 second-chance points.

Lil Overcash finished with five rebounds and four assists in her 103rd and final game as a Green Terror while senior
Clara Gonzales hit her only shot attempt, a three-pointer with six seconds remaining.
