ABINGTON, Pa. - Senior
Lauren Hoolahan posted two wins on Sunday, as the McDaniel College women's tennis team took on Penn State Abington in a non-conference road match.
Hoolahan partnered with freshman
Jillian Lasher at No. 3 doubles to post a 6-0 win before posting an 8-1 victory at N0. 6 singles to give the Green Terror (4-6) their second point.
Lasher obtained the first point for the Green Terror and was able to defeat Monan Mberigue at No. 5 doubles posting an 8-3 win.
Freshman
Stephanie Buttons had a hard-fought match at No. 1 singles where it ultimately ended in defeat. She was able to obtain the first set with a 6-4 win. Buttons went into the second set and lost 6-4, which led into a 10-point tie breaker, where she came up short with a loss of 10-7.
Buttons was partnered with Senior
Lil Overcash at No. 1 doubles. The pair was defeated with a 6-4 loss. Overcash then went to compete at No. 2 singles where she fought in a close match with a 7-6 first set with a 7-point tie breaker to determine the set winner. She lost the tiebreak with a 7-5 loss and then was defeated in the second set at 6-3.
The Green Terror returns to action on the road to take on Neumann College in Aston, PA on April 5th with a start time of 1pm.
